The Pöttinger Real Estate Group acting for a good cause
Höhenkirchen, 7 October 2016: Giving people with a disability space for an independent life – this is the idea behind the development of a very special residential building in “Hirschwinkel” in Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn. Together with the Pöttinger Real Estate Group, which constructed the building shell, the charity “Zukunft trotz Handicap” (“A future despite disability”) is setting up a residential home for young people with congenital or acquired disabilities.
The development of “Hirschwinkel” will give Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn a completely new quarter. The Pöttinger Real Estate construction project represents a major step in community development in the 10,000-inhabitant municipality in the east of Munich. The new estate is the perfect location for the charity’s new residential home, as the building is not being constructed on an open, greenfield site, but in the midst of other people – social inclusion in practice. The aim is to give the young residents a self-determined life despite their disability. Responsibility for running the home will be transferred to an operator with experience of caring for the disabled when the first young people move in.
The Pöttinger Real Estate Group supports this great vision and made a large donation to the “Zukunft trotz Handicap” charity on the occasion of the topping-out ceremony. Philipp S. Pöttinger, Managing Director of the Pöttinger Real Estate Group, is impressed by the charity’s work: “In a world where everything must be ever faster and better, people with disability often get left behind. We must stand up for them and ensure that they are able to develop and participate in daily life like able-bodied people. The charity “Zukunft trotz Handicap” is doing outstanding work in this respect. As a family business, we also support them and take our social responsibility seriously.”
The first young people are due to move into the residential home in “Hirschwinkel” in the summer of 2017.

In addition, Pöttinger Construction undertook the technically demanding challenge of large-scale demolition in an inner-city location that is difficult to access. The sale was accompanied by Jones Lang LaSalle. The seller received legal advice from CONTRIVAR Rechtsanwalts GmbH.
Pöttinger Real Estate Group: Generational succession in construction company – Ludwig Pöttinger passes on the baton
Munich, 4 August 2016: After 43 years in the business, Ludwig Pöttinger is handing over responsibility for the construction company to his son, Philipp. This heralds a new era in the history of the real estate group – Philipp S. Pöttinger will bring fresh impetus and wishes to continue and develop the company’s formula for success.
Son to continue company strategy
Son and successor Philipp S. Pöttinger will in future assume even greater responsibility. The family business enjoys an excellent reputation in Munich and the surrounding area. As an employer, construction company, developer and administrator, the company is not just a major economic factor in the region. It has given many people a roof over their heads and shown itself to be a dependable partner with high standards of quality. In future it will continue to practice the values that Ludwig Pöttinger has always upheld: “My father will continue to assist us with words and deeds, with the experience and equanimity of a companion giving support and advice”, says the new man at the helm.
Philipp S. Pöttinger with international vision
The Pöttinger Real Estate Group is a one-stop shop. For customers, this means that they can obtain everything relating to building, developing and managing from a single source. With its real estate expertise and market experience gained over generations, the Ottobrunn-based company is a proven partner for its customers. “Whether owner-occupiers or buy-to-let investors, regional or international, we can put together the right custom package”, Philipp S. Pöttinger explains. The Munich region is particularly interesting for investors owing to its stability and continuous growth. “Anyone investing in property in and around Munich in recent years has had a good deal. But in international comparison, Munich still has a lot of potential”, states Philipp S. Pöttinger. He has been part of the real estate group since 2006 and in that time has successfully developed the business. After ten years in the metropolises of London, Berlin and New York City – where he completed his Master of Science in Real Estate Development – he returned to Ottobrunn in 2005 to assume responsibilities in the family business. Philipp S. Pöttinger intends exploiting the investment potential in his Bavarian home city in order to win over international investors. His vision for the future of the family business is to position the Pöttinger brand as a one-stop shop with exclusive boutique character on the international market over the long term.
Facing the future with pooled resources,
Ludwig Pöttinger will continue to take care of project development and the management of the company’s own property portfolio. He is handing over the construction business into the capable hands of his son. “Philipp can do it. He can always ask me if he needs my advice. The positive ‘old school’ aspects will live on under his leadership – that was not just an essential prerequisite for me but also a matter of course for my son”, the businessman explains.
